Glorcroft are fortunate to have been involved in two historic projects which clearly demonstrate the diversity of our services. We helped restore and refit the sails on the Grade II Listed Rayleigh Windmill and our Technical Director’s claim to fame is that in his carpenter/joiner days here at Glorcroft, he refurbished the Queen Mother’s old V8 Pilot Woody now located at Sandringham Estate Museum!

The Grade II listed mill – the highest in Essex – has just been reopened after a £340,000 revamp, including a structural renovation of the 19th century brick built building.

The basic external brickwork has been repaired, the interior has been transformed to provide four storeys of modern display facilities which has turned the windmill into a major tourist and educational attraction in the county.
